Rhonda comes to Arizona
by way of the Midwest. Raised on a farm,
animals have always been a part of her life. She loves the small town
atmosphere of Fountain Hills and jumped at the chance to work in the town were
she lives. She never knew that she would love her job as an office manager so
much after being in the corporate world. She loves meeting people from
all over the country and sharing their animal stories. Now that her
daughter and son have flown the coop, Rhonda and her husband, Paul enjoy hitting
the trails with her puppies, Copper and Scooter. They also enjoy getting
out of town to do their other hobbies such as rafting, mountain biking,
backpacking and camping. Even though she has lived in Arizona for twenty-one years, you can take
the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl!
Hi all! My name is Ed, I am kennel manager
for FHVH. After doing a 30+ year stint in the automotive industry, I knew
it was time for a change. Boy, did I make the right move! It is so
nice having a low-stress job and working with the nicest people one could ever
meet, really makes life a lot more enjoyable. I really like my job, being
able to interact with the animals is rewarding. I also was a volunteer at
Liberty Wildlife for four years. They are a native bird and raptor rehab
center in Scottsdale.
Working with and handling the hawks, owls , vultures, etc. was a truly awesome
experience. My interests include birding and bird photography, fishing,
and rock hounding. I have a decent working knowledge of Arizona flora and fauna, enjoy state history
and sightseeing around the state. At FHVH, we have a great boarding facility
which we strive to keep clean and provide a good environment for your
pets. We treat all pets like we would our own! Hope to see you and
your pets here soon!
Karen has worked for Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital
for five years. She and her husband, Mike and son, Ryan moved from Memphis, Tennessee.
While living in Tennessee,
she raised and showed registered quarter horses. She also worked for a
small and large animal hospital. When she is not at work, she enjoys
doing Precept Bible Studies, golfing with her husband and decorating their
home. She has a soft spot for dachshunds.
Lorraine has been living in Fountain Hills for
thirteen years with her husband, Vinny and her three cats, Grizabella, Woodpile
and Holly. She began working for Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital
twelve years ago. Lorraine is originally
from Long Island, New York, where she was the co-manager for a
zoo. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling and the great
outdoors. Animals, large and small-wild and not so wild-have always been
a part of her life.
Emily, B.S., CVT, was
born in upstate New York and has lived in Arizona since
1993. She graduated from Fountain Hills High
School in 1998. She has been with Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital
full time since graduating from Northern Arizona University
in May, 2007, with degrees in Biology and History, and has been the head
technician since 2009. Her favorite parts of her job include the
opportunity to help and heal people’s beloved friends, help pet “parents” gain
knowledge about their animal’s needs, and of course the ability to snuggle with
the four-footed, furry clientele. She is a firm believer that animal
kisses keep a person young. When not working, Emily is continuing her
higher education, loves to go hiking, backpacking, and camping, visit national
parks, sew, and spend time with the love of her life, Donny. She also
likes nights at home with her six cats, Abbey, Holly, Freckles, Jezebel,
Penelope, Bunny, and her rescue puppy, Sophie. Emily is uncertain of her
future, but is considering applying to veterinary school for the fall of 2012
My name is Krista and I am the newest
employee here at Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital.
I'm a kennel assistant and I am also in training to be a veterinary assistant.
I have always had animals growing up and always felt I would love to work
with them. And I was right! I am an Arizona native and have been living in
Fountain Hills for about 22 years. When I am not working I enjoy voice lessons
and singing. I recently got married and now share a home with my husband Spencer, and
two dogs named Sandy and Zuko.
